1st Step Technology Orthotic Core Material The semi-rigid, vinylplex core is aligned to give the optimal correction and support which includes a clearly defined heel cup. The heel cup takes advantage of the natural tissue cushioning around the calcaneus and contributes to the stabilisation of the foot within a shoe. Poron Layer and heel All 1st Step orthotics use poron, an open-cell urethane foam with the highest rating of shock absorbency, breath ability and resistance to compression. This material will not "bottom out" after extensive use. It will maintain its ability to absorb shock throughout the life of the orthotic. This ensures high performance even after months of wear.
