Reflex balls are firm sensory balls for massage and
sensory therapy. The simple design massages the skin and muscles using the 230
densely packed, raised points on the ball's textured surface. The increased
blood flow stimulated by the massaging action helps to remove muscles tension,
while the dimples affect the sensory organs of the skin, increasing afferent
stimulation of the nervous system. This is particularly important when dealing
with the soles of the feet.
Reflex balls have been used for years for self-massage and have become popular in the therapy and medical domains for the treatment of lower back pain, particularly during pregnancy.
